Sonic the Hedgehog 3 2024 Moviezwap: Release Date, Box Office Collection

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is an upcoming live-action film based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series and the sequel to the 2022 film Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It will be the third installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and will be released in December 2024.

The film is inspired by the video game Sonic Adventure 2 and follows Team Sonic as they face Dr. Robotnik's return and latest scheme, while a mysterious rival emerges.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Production & Development

Prior to the release of the second Sonic the Hedgehog film, Patrick Casey and Josh Miller revealed on an episode of Kellen's Pete talk show on April 5, 2021 that they had expressed interest in making a third Sonic film, even mentioning that a scene featuring Eggman was removed from the second film for flow reasons and that they wanted to add it back into the third. The film was finally announced at ViacomCBS Investors Connect Day on February 15, 2022, two months before the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

On May 13, 2022, writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller made a guest appearance at a comic book convention hosted by Klamath Community College, where they answered fan questions about the films they had written for and been involved in. On the subject of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Casey and Miller were asked what plotlines they would be interested in adapting, and expressed interest in potentially taking inspiration from Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog.

In response to a question about Shadow the Hedgehog's planned voice actor for the film, Casey and Miller stated that they intended to have a big movie star voice Shadow, and had planned a specific person for the role, though they had not received any response from them regarding their acceptance of the role.

In response to a question about when Amy would appear in the film, Casey and Miller said that her inclusion was "in the works." Another question was whether "Live and Learn" could be used in the climax of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, to which Casey and Miller responded that there was a "reasonable possibility" of such a thing, adding that the producers were aware of the support. Fans wanted Crush 40 to appear in the film and the band's involvement was also discussed.

In response to a question about Sonic the Hedgehog 3's release date, Casey and Miller said they expected it to be released in about two years. On August 8, 2022, it was eventually announced that the film would officially be released on December 20, 2024.

On May 25, 2023, Pat Casey confirmed that the film's script was finished shortly before the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, an event that began on May 2, 2023.

Crush 40 lead singer Johnny Gioeli has joked a bit about the band's involvement in the film. It was later revealed on February 4, 2024 that Paramount Pictures had secured the legal rights to use "Live and Learn" in the film.

On April 17, 2024, Idris Elba revealed in an interview with the site Collider that he cannot reveal anything and that the film will have Easter eggs "for all the hardcore fans". He also said that Jim Carrey is an incredible actor.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Casting

Shortly after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Jim Carrey announced that he was considering retiring from acting, but commented that he might return "if the angels come up with some sort of script written in gold ink that tells me this is going to be really important to people." Check it out." In response to a question about Jim Carrey's involvement in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Patrick Casey and Josh Miller responded that the film was still in the "blue sky" stage of development, where they were considering all possible avenues for the film, as they were trying to figure out what it should be, and that Carrey's involvement was unknown at the time. Sonic the Hedgehog voice actor Ben Schwartz hoped Carrey would reprise his role in the third film, while producers Neal Moritz and Toby Asher stated that they would not re-hire Dr. Robotnik if Carrey went ahead with his return plans.

On February 2, 2024, it was revealed that Jim Carrey would reprise his role as Dr. Robotnik. In addition to the other returning actors (Ben Schwartz, Colleen O'Shaughnessy, Idris Elba, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Lee Majdoub, and Tom Butler), it was also revealed that new actors would appear in the film, along with unknown characters. Will appear in the roles: Krysten Ritter, Alila Brown, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernandez and Jorma Taccone.

Alila Brown revealed in her ins on February 16, 2024

On April 15, 2024, it was reported that Keanu Reeves would voice Shadow the Hedgehog in the film, with many fans having speculated about this prior to the announcement.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Shooting

As a result of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, filming on the animated characters began in September 2023. On March 14, 2024, James Marsden confirmed in an interview with The Playlist that filming on the film had been completed shortly beforehand, and Jeff Fowler officially confirmed it in a statement on Twitter on March 29.

On February 21, 2024, Ben Schwartz posted a selfie of himself with the script on Twitter, revealing that he had begun recording his lines and had completed them on May 3, 2024.
